Welcome to Chebanse Illinois!  We are a village and a community spanning the northern border of Iroquois County and the southern border of Kankakee County.  Chebanse was established in 1854 as the first stop on the Illinois Central Railroad south of Kankakee, IL.  In the Potawatomi language, "Chebanse" means "The Little Duck".  We pride ourselves on community and family, thanks for stopping by for a visit!

This is the new flag drop located North of the Community Building on Main Street in Chebanse.  You can now discard your old American flags here so that they will be properly disposed of.  We also have a bulletin board where we would like to place 5x7 photos and information of those currently serving in the Armed Forces from our surrounding community.  Thank You Chebanse American Legion
